RapidRetouch

I wanted the speed of Evoto's AI retouching without the subscription, the per-image credits or uploading my clients' photos to someone else's server, so I developed RapidRetouch. I also wanted to bring AI retouching to the Linux community, something that didn't yet exist.

Everything is a slider: remove blemishes and acne, smooth and even out skin while keeping its texture, soften wrinkles, eye bags and dark circles, whiten eyes and teeth, clean up creased backdrops, dodge & burn and more. It's all non-destructive and live, with batch export to 16-bit TIFF or JPEG.

The retouching itself is classic image processing like frequency separation, not generative AI, so faces are never redrawn. AI is only used to find the face, skin, hair and backdrop, and every model used is licensed for commercial work.

It runs entirely on your own computer, on Linux, Mac and Windows. No uploads, no accounts, and it's free and open source, from 24 MP files right up to 100 MP medium format.

RapidRetouch is new and actively developed, so please report any bugs at my Github, where you can also download.

A retouching app made by a portrait photographer for portrait photographers! Enjoy :)

Linux:

Appimage

Mac:

Apple Silicon DMG (M1 and later)

Windows 11

MSI installer

EXE installer

On first launch it downloads its AI engine once (about 1 GB, or 3 GB with an NVIDIA graphics card), then works offline.

The installers aren't code-signed yet. Mac users will need to try to open the app once (it'll be blocked), then go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down to the security notice about RapidRetouch, and click Open Anyway. Or simply enter the terminal command below:
xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/RapidRetouch.app

Windows users, more ->run anyway.

More information on my Github.
