A twilight wedding at Rowhill Grange
This was a winter twilight wedding with a rich emerald green colour scheme. White chair covers with green sashes lined the aisle, the bridesmaids wore deep green dresses, and the bouquets were clouds of white gypsophila. The day began with relaxed preparation photos by the windows and on the white-painted balcony, where the bride and her bridesmaids gathered before the ceremony.
The reception room was filled with fairy lights and a floral canopy, giving the meal and speeches a warm, glowing atmosphere. There were plenty of emotional moments during the speeches, and the cake, with its cupcake tier and sweet table, made a great focal point for the cutting.
Rain, confetti and evening light
As evening fell, the rain arrived. Rather than lose the outdoor photos, we used it. The confetti shot went ahead outside in the dark with flash, and a clear umbrella with the venue’s windows glowing behind made one of the most atmospheric portraits of the day. Wet ground reflects light beautifully, and a little rain often makes evening photos more striking, not less.
Photography tips for Rowhill Grange

- Group photos: the entrance paths and planting outside work well, with covered spots close by if the weather turns.
